Cagliari, Marco Mancosu outspoken about his future
Mancosu gives himself an important goal
Marco Mancosu, with ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport,’ talked about his first season since returning to Cagliari, his hometown club, and among other things expressed a clear desire regarding the future.
“Outside the locker room there is a wall with photos of all the Sardinians who have played with this jersey,” said the midfielder. “Mine is not there yet and my goal for the future is to be able to deserve it. This jersey for a Sardinian weighs a lot, but the sooner you make peace with it the better you live.”
Mancosu, 34, grew up in Cagliari and with the Rossoblù he made his debut in A in the 2006/07 season. He was also part of the islanders’ roster in 2007/08, as well as halfway through the following season after a brief spell at Rimini. Since then he has undertaken a long journey around Italy (Empoli, Siracusa, Benevento, Casertana, Lecce, and Spal) before returning home in the summer of 2022.
