Carlos Alcaraz explains his new approach
More than a few question marks had been raised, speaking of Carlos Alcaraz, in the difficult period between the conclusion of the 2022 season and the beginning of 2023. From February 16, the date of his return to the court, the Murcian made almost no mistakes, winning 14 of the 15 matches played in the following month, until the Indian Wells final in which he annihilated Daniil Medvedev.
Alcaraz got off to a good start in Miami as well, with a nimble win over Facundo Bagnis (6-0, 6-2 in 66′), and it was on the sidelines of the match he won against the Argentine that Alcaraz revealed his new approach: “I had to take care of myself a little more off the court,” he told reporters attending the press conference, “going to bed early to rest better, eating well. It’s turning out to be an important aspect, and until recently I couldn’t do it the way I wanted to.”
“The turning point was the injury at the beginning of January, I started to handle off-field situations better and the results, so far, are showing.”
