Daniele Scardina is no longer in mortal danger
Daniele Scardina is out of danger
Great news: Daniele Scardina, the boxer who was hit by a brain hemorrhage last Feb. 28, has been discharged from the intensive care unit of Milan’s Humanitas Hospital where he had been admitted after head surgery.
“Four weeks after that afternoon that turned into the worst nightmare imaginable,” wrote his brother Giovanni in a post on the athlete’s Instagram profile, “today I’m here to give you the news that so many of us have been waiting for: Daniele’s clinical condition continues to improve and today himself was discharged from the intensive care unit to continue the course of treatment initially in the ward and later in a specialized rehabilitation center.
“His battle is not over, but we can finally say that his life is no longer in danger,” added Giovanni, who thanked the medical team of the intensive care unit of the Humanitas clinical institute “which has taken extraordinary care of Daniele in these weeks. Equally impossible is to describe the gratitude we feel for our God who has accompanied the doctors, Daniele and all of us through this difficult journey. Thanks also to you for the closeness you have shown us by walking by our side during this terrible time, it is good to know that so many people had a thought for my brother. The road is uphill but we have faith.”
