Italy, Mancini targets another Argentine: Franco Watson
After the Retegui operation, the blue staff’s search for oriundi does not stop: rumors from Argentina on Franco Watson
After the successful call-up of Mateo Retegui, who scored twice in his first two games as an Azzurri player, the Italian federation and Roberto Mancini are reportedly targeting other interesting profiles in Argentine soccer with Italian origins.
According to Tyc Sports, the Azzurri have in particular set their eyes on 2003 class Franco Watson, an Instituto midfielder with an Italian passport because he has a grandfather born in Palermo. The initial idea would be to call him up to the Under 21, with a view to a possible call-up to the senior national team.
Franco Watson has played 7 games so far with Instituto in the Argentine Superliga.
