Inter intervenes after chants at Lukaku
In the aftermath of the racist chants directed at Romelu Lukaku during the Coppa Italia semifinal against Juventus played at Allianz Stadium, the Nerazzurri club intervened with a statement released on its official website in which it supported the Belgian center forward.
“We are brothers and sisters of the world. Since March 9, 1908, this has been our history.
We want to firmly reiterate that we stand united against racism and all forms of discrimination. Soccer and sports must be not only a vehicle of emotions but also of clear and shared values, which have nothing to do with what we saw last night in the last minutes of the Coppa Italia semifinal in Turin, Juventus-Inter.
That is why we reiterate all our support, affection and solidarity to Romelu Lukaku, as the world of soccer is doing from many quarters in these hours.
Come on Rom, we are with you!” reads the note issued by the Milanese club.
