Andreas Leknessund is in no hurry to surrender the pink jersey
“I hope to be able to defend it again on Saturday.”
At the Giro d’Italia, Andreas Leknessund defended the leadership symbol for the third day in a row.
“I didn’t expect to hold on to the pink jersey but I thought it would be possible,” stressed the Team DSM Norwegian. “I was ready for the battle. The way the race developed definitely favored me and my team. I thought the final climb would be tougher, but maybe the wind, the cold and the length of the stage put off those who wanted to attack. I gave myself another day in the pink jersey, I hope to be able to defend it on Saturday as well but I think my adventure in the lead will end on Sunday as Evenepoel is only 28″ away and in time trial he is too superior to me.”
