Magical evening between tradition and sport in the castle of Guardia Sanframondi (Bn), for the “Alfredo Pigna – Terra di Falanghina” Award. The award was given to Jacopo Volpi, historical face of Rai Sport. Careers, then, that intersect in the magic of words for the singular narration of sport.
The popular journalist received the award, sponsored by the USSI, during a special evening with prominent attendees and characterized by tales of sports, territory and food and wine.
Jacopo Volpi was presented with a work by Guardia artist Ernesto Pengue, conceived with Olympia in mind and made with an S in a double spiral, the initial of the terms: Sannio, Sport, Sanframondi and Speranza.
The meeting, moderated by Marco Lobasso, was attended by Gianfranco Coppola (USSI national president), regional councillor Felice Casucci, Raffaele Di Lonardo (mayor of Guardia Sanframondi), Luciano Pignataro (food and wine critic) and Gioia (granddaughter of Alfredo Pigna).
Touching testimonies were given by Bruno Pizzul, Sara Simeoni, Nino Petrone, Alberto Tomba, Ninna Quario, Claudia Giordani, Patrizio Oliva and Pierluigi Marzorati.
All extolled the uncommon talents of Alfredo Pigna, a very talented journalist, able to innovate television and, above all, as Bruno Pizzul pointed out, “proud to be an ambassador of Guardia Sanframondi.”
