Francisco Cerundolo still in disbelief after success over Jannik Sinner in Rome
He almost can’t believe it, Francisco Cerundolo, after his success in the round of 16 of the Internazionali d’Italia against home idol Jannik Sinner.
At the microphones of ‘Sport Mediaset,’ the Argentine told of his feelings after the three-set victory that ousted the San Candido native, one of the favorites if not for success at least to reach the semifinals or finals, from the tournament in Rome. “It’s a wonderful moment, Sinner is one of the best in the world and the fans were all for him,” Cerundolo told. “The key to the match? Definitely the start of the second set (3-0 and break lead for the Argentine, ed.), it gave me so much confidence.”
Despite losing only four games between the second and third sets, Cerundolo does not speak of an easy match: “It was a tough match,” he confirmed, “I managed to win because I made few mistakes.
