Maverick Viñales: the nice gesture for the family of Luis Salom

Maverick Viñales on the sidelines of the Assen GP revealed that he donated a 125 motorcycle that belonged to Luis Salom to the mother of the unfortunate rider who died in 2016 after a track accident.

“It was important that his bike (with which Salom won his first career podium ed.) was in his house and not in mine. For me he was a great rival but also a great friend, I simply thought that the home of his bike was his home, and it was a gesture that made me feel good. The mother, Maria, did not expect anything, I just told her that I would send a gift.”

On the free practice at Assen: “We tried and found different things to figure out where we were, and it shows that we are not yet at our best.”
