Italy will not be able to count on Myriam Sylla in Pool 6 of the ongoing VNL in Bangkok. On the immediate eve of the Azzura women’s debut in Thailand against Brazil (today at 3:30 p.m. Italian time live on Sky Sport Summer and Sky Sport Arena) captain Sylla complained of a foot discomfort that required further investigations.

Instrumental examinations found a slight strain in the plantar fascia muscles that will force the Azzurro captain into the pits for the entire week. Meanwhile, coach Davide Mazzanti made a change in the 14-man roster by inserting Linda Nwakalor right in place of the injured Sylla. The Italian setter has already embarked with the Italian health staff on the recovery path to be back available as soon as possible.
