Marc Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo send message to Ducati
Marc Marquez-Ducati, Jorge Lorenzo's opinion
Jorge Lorenzo, at the microphones of the Spanish version of 'Dazn', has è decidedly unbalanced on the ambitions of Marc Marquez for next season: taking for granted the Catalan’s landing in one of the teams with Ducati motorcycles, the three-time MotoGp champion argues that Marquez can already aspire to the title in 2024, under one condition.
"In my opinion Marc canò win the World Championship,” he said, “as long as they give him a bike equal, or at least as competitive, to that of Bagnaia and Bastianini, the riders of the factory team. On the other hand, we have seen what his brother Alex can do, who è a very good rider but does not have the aggressiveness and natural talent of Marc".
"As soon as he gets on the Ducati you will immediately see what he is capable of doing – added the Majorcan – If he adapts quickly and has a bike at least similar to the factory team he could win the motoGp title already in his first season, because for me Marc è still the best".
Marquez has decided to leave Honda after 11 seasons in MotoGp, all spent in the HRC team: he won the title in the two-year period 2013-14 and four consecutive times between 2016 and 2019, before the ordeal related to shoulder operations and diplopia, which, combined with Honda’s crisis of competitiveness, has brought him to the back of the grid in recent years, with very little satisfaction. His last race won dates back to October 24, 2021, when he won the Misano GP ahead of Pol Espargaró and Enea Bastianini.
