A decision that, according to the Federation, was agreed upon with technical commissioner Fefè De Giorgi, but which nonetheless leaves insiders stunned.
“Ivan Zaytsev has left the collegiate of the Men’s National Team,” reads the Fipav note. “The opposite player, in fact, matured the decision after a conversation he had with the Technical Commissioner yesterday evening (Monday, ed.).
The same comuinicato reports the explanation of the same De Giorgi: “At the end of an appropriate path and after a careful technical and team evaluation, I took the decision to communicate to the athlete that he would not be part of the roster of the 14 for the World Championship. In order to avoid any kind of ‘speculation,’ I emphasize that the athlete has always kept an exemplary conduct.”
