F1, Ferrari: Carlos Sainz pulls straight and doesn’t mince words after the race
Carlos Sainz drove the #55 Ferrari to sixth place in the Las Vegas GP
Given the initial penalty that forced him to start from box number 12 on the grid and the spin at the start of the Las Vegas Gp after contact with Lewis Hamilton, which forced him to make a comeback from the bottom of the standings, Carlos Sainz’s sixth place finish looks like the best possible result. Yet for the Spaniard, the smiles are really only hinted at on the sidelines of the race.
"It's been a very difficult race already becauseé I was starting in the middle of the group and with cold tires – said the driver of the number 55 Ferrari to 'Sky Sport' – Despite grip problems we managed to come back from last to sixth place but I am certainly not happy: with this car we could have won".
"In any case,” added Sainz Jr, “we managed to save 8 important points for the Constructors World Championship standings. For second place è everything is still open, we hope we can be competitive in Abu Dhabi as well and beat Mercedes".
Ferrari è is currently in third position in the World Championship dedicated to manufacturers: on the eve of the last Gp of the season, the one in Abu Dhabi, they are only 4 points behind Mercedes, currently second: 392 the points of the stable of Brackley, 388 those of the Cavallino.
