Giro 2024: Tadej Pogacar also at the start
Tadej Pocagar will be at the start of the Giro d'Italia 2024, 107th edition that will start from Venaria Reale, on the outskirts of Turin, on Saturday, May 4 and end at the Fori Imperiali, in Rome, on Sunday, May 26, only thirty days before the Tour de France. This is the first participation for the Slovenian star in the pink race.
This was announced by the organizers of the Giro d'Italia, via a video posted on the Giro's social profiles, in which the UAE Team Emirates rider is picked up at the Milan-Linate airport and loaded onto a car headed for the pink race, accompanied by a "Andiamo!" that leaves no doubt about his participation.
Pogacar, already the winner of two Tour de France titles, will go after the Giro-Tour double in 2024, which Marco Pantani last succeeded in 1998. But this is not the end of it: the Slovenian will also go in the hunt for Olympic gold in Paris, in the road race.
