African Cup of Nations, Victor Osimhen: “One more effort.”
The Super Eagles have not won the African Cup of Nations since 2013
Nigeria, despite suffering the proverbial seven shirts, has reached the Africa Cup of Nations final. On Sunday, the Super Eagles, will play for the trophy against hosts Côte d'Ivoire. For Osimhen, star of the Nigerian national team, a real chance to bring the African champions title back to his homeland after a full 11 years of waiting (last African Cup of Nations won in 2013).
After winning the Scudetto with Napoli last year, Osimhen è a step away from winning another very precious trophy that would further consecrate him at the international level: "Many congratulations to the team, one more effort to make our dream come true", his words in the post-match of the challenge won, only on penalties, against South Africa that è earned him access to the very final.
Interestingly, while Osimhen will try to win the African Cup of Nations, his Napoli team will be on stage against AC Milan. Many Napoli fans are looking forward to embracing their champion again, even though they know that, at the end of the season, his farewell seems almost certain. As reiterated many times, the Nigerian star’s future seems to be in the Premier League. First, however, there's to be won the African Cup of Nations and a Champions League spot with Napoli.
