ATP 500 Dubai, Lorenzo Sonego in the second round

Lorenzo Sonego, world number 48, as is his wont, struggles with a tennis player behind him in the rankings but finally manages to beat with the score of 6-4 5-7 the’Indian Sumit Nagal, number 97, in the 1st’round of the ATP 500 on the Dubai cement.

A single break decides the first set and è in favor of the 28-year-old from Turin who breaks serve from his opponent in the seventh game, in the next one saves a break ball and shortly after closes the partial.

No break ball in the second set until 5-5, here Nagal has to save two and then, in the next game, è he snatches the serve from Sonny, even to 15.

The third set è dominated by Lorenzo who breaks his opponent three times, closing on the second match point. In the second round Sonego will face Russia’s Daniil Medvedev, number 4 in the ATP ranking and number 1 seed in the tournament.
