Jannik Sinner smiles, Matteo Berrettini does not
Ranking Atp
A new week opens in the tennis world and the ATP ranking landscape shows little news. Novak Djokovic continues to hold the top spot for week number 415, followed by Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The trio, along with other top players, are preparing for the Sunshine Double, an event that will have a significant impact on ranking positions.
Sinner canò smile about the gap he maintains from Russian Daniil Medvedev, currently in fourth place with a difference of -555 points. Following his performance in Acapulco, Casper Ruud è returned to the top-10, occupying the ninth position, while Alex de Minaur è won the cited ATP500, securing the tenth spot.
Among Italian players, in addition to Sinner, Lorenzo Musetti maintains the number 26 position in the ranking, while Matteo Arnaldi climbs a few positions, reaching 40ª position. They are followed by Lorenzo Sonego (55º), Flavio Cobolli (62º) and Luciano Darderi (73º), the latter two rising sharply.
In contrast, Matteo Berrettini sees his ranking position drop. As expected, his participation in last year's quarterfinals in Acapulco caused him to lose at least 27 positions. However, there is a decrease of 29 positions since the last update, with Berrettini now at 154º place. The Roman tennis player will return to the court in the Phoenix Challenger next week, hoping to move up the rankings.
