There is a backstory behind the transfer of Vincenzo Millico
Vincenzo Millico transferred from Torino to Cagliari
To improve the offensive department, Cagliari has signed Vincenzo Millico, who would have found very little space at Torino. Behind the center forward’s transfer, however, there is a backstory: it seems that the Sardinians were interested in Marko Lazetic from AC Milan and there had even been an opening from the Rossoneri club. Stefano Pioli, however, after consulting with his staff, decided to keep the Serbian as Giroud and Origi do not give much certainty at the injury level. That track having been nixed, Capozucca therefore pounced on Millico.
The class of 2000 has arrived on a permanent basis: “Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the purchase from Torino of the right to the sports performance of Vincenzo Millico: the player arrives at the red and blue club on a permanent basis and has signed a contract until June 30, 2023 with an option to renew in favor of the club until June 30, 2026.”
“Skilled in one-on-one, he exploits his qualities to create numerical superiority and also offer inviting assists to teammates. A young prospect who just on the day he celebrates 22 years old officially joins the Rossoblù family to put all his talent at the disposal of the team. Happy birthday and welcome to Sardinia, Vincenzo,” reads the statement released by the Rossoblù club.
