Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo sees the glass half full
After a complicated debut in Qatar, which culminated with an 11th place, Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha will try to move up the grid in the next round in Portugal. A few days before the Portimao GP, the French centaur, to the team’s official channels, despite the considerable difficulties at the performance level, he è wanted to dwell on the positive aspects of the YZR-M1.
"The weekend in Qatar was not è easy at all, but now we know what to work on to improve the bike. The Portimao è track is very different from Lusail, so it will be interesting to see how the bike and tire wear behave. Since we didn't score any points in the Sprint Race, we're in the middle of the standings, so we'll do our best to move up the rankings this weekend. As always, I will give 100 percent and I know the team will too in trying to develop the bike as soon as possible, so we will see what we can do" this is the thought of Fabio Quartararo as quoted by "FormulaPassion".
On the same wavelength as the Frenchman, teammate Alex Rins did not hide his optimism ahead of the weekend in Portugal: "Although the result was not the best, our race in Qatar è was very useful to collect some data and learn a lot for Portimao. It's a pity that in the last six laps we paid the price of pushing too hard to make up positions, becauseè then our tires were finished. However, I am happy becauseè we had a similar pace to the other Yamahas, which means we are on the same level and can work together to improve in the same way".
