Conegliano, it’s still scudetto: Scandicci falls in game-4
The Scudetto, the seventh in history, è arrived.
Conegliano è champion of Italy, for the sixth time in a row and the week in its own history. On Saturday night, Imoco Volleyball managed to prevail over a tough Scandicci at PalaWanny in Florence. It ended 3-1 for the Panthers (23-25; 25-17; 25-17; 25-21), who were able to prevail over their opponents who also won the first set.
In fact, Scandicci started better, which però could not resist the comeback of coach Daniele Santarelli’s girls. On the shields in particular the opposite player Isabelle Haak, who scores 29 points. Also excellent for Conegliano were the performances of Kathryn Plummer (18 points) and Kelsey Robinson (10), decisive with her two walls and two aces the central Marina Lubian. On the other side the top scorer turned out to be Ekaterina Antropova (22 points).
A historical success for Conegliano, able to recover from the defeat in game-1 at PalaVerde in Treviso and unstoppable since then: in fact, the series ends 3-1 for Imoco. And it isn’t è all: in fact, the Venetian women chase the record of Ravenna, which between 1981 and 1991 was able to string together eleven consecutive championships.
Imoco’s season, however, is not è over yet. Conegliano has in fact won three titles in Italy (Scudetto, Coppa Italia, Italian Supercup), but it canò impose itself in Europe as well. In fact, on Sunday, May 5, it will be the turn of the Champions League, with the all-Italian final against Milan scheduled in Antalya, Turkey.
