Milan, Mike Maignan’s many doubts about the future
Not superlative season and a few too many injuries
Milan soccer: his third season in the Rossoneri è was, numbers in hand, his worst. Maignan did not make an impact as he did in his two previous years at Milan. A few too many injuries and a department that was not always perfect made life rather difficult for him. The Frenchman, at the moment, is still not è certain of what he will do in the near future.
Rossoneri ad Furlani has let it be known that Maignan is not going anywhere but, in reality, there would still be nothing official about his confirmation for next season as well. Clearly a lot will depend on the new coach the Diavolo will rely on but also on other issues. First and foremost, a renewal that is struggling to reach the classic white smoke.
Maignan's current deal with the Rossoneri expires in June 2026. The French national team goalkeeper earns 3.2 million euros per season. His entourage would like to rediscuss the salary, bringing it to top player figures, so no less than seven million per season. A request that, at the moment, Milan does not seem willing to meet.
Although his performances have not been sublime, Maignan remains a highly coveted goalkeeper. Several clubs could step up and try to snatch him from the Diavolo. His quote è dropped but there is still talk of no less than 60 million euros. A proceeds that could help the Rossoneri club to make an important market. In short, the future of Maignan è all to be decided.
