Atalanta, fears confirmed: Berat Djimsiti forced into long stop
Berat Djimsiti in the pits
During the Sunday, Aug. 21 match between Atalanta and AC Milan, at minute number 82 Nerazzurri defender Berat Djimsiti was hit by Divock Origi, a Rossoneri striker who arrived as a free agent after his experience at Liverpool. The clash of play was quite hard, so much so that the Albanian footballer had to leave the pitch.
The examinations to which the orobici athlete underwent this morning confirmed the fears of the medical staff: Djimsiti suffered a compound fracture of the middle third of the left fibula. A rather serious injury that will see him off the field for at least two months. Atalanta let it be known that “the player has started from the outset the treatment established in the recovery program.”
Quite a problem for Gasperini, who already has to do without Palomino, who was suspended after testing positive for doping. Atalanta could therefore intervene in the market in search of a new defender.
