Jasmine Paolini’s coach, Renzo Furlan, gave a lengthy interview to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' in which he spoke about his pupil who will play the Roland Garros final against world number one Iga Swiatek on Saturday. "Jasmine and I immediately hit it off,” she began, “like me, è someone who wants to touch with her own hands, on the court, with results, the goodness of the work you do in training. And then è a fighter, with excellent technical fundamentals: basically her strength è that she sticks to every point". 

So she unveiled the turning point: "Last summer è clicked, she started playing well, beat level opponents and by the end of the year found herself in the top 30: this increased her awareness and confidence and clearly convinced her to train even better, to take an extra step. Jasmine is not è cocky at all, but è confident in herself and in the face of victories she obviously began to believe much more in herself".

"Jasmine è always been a girl with great ball speed – added the Tuscan coach – but in the beginning she tended to do the same things, to play always the same. Today she è a complete tennis player, serves well, knows how to hit with many variations, and above all, she è no longer è only skilled in defense, but also knows how to offend, a fundamental combination".

Finally, Furlan talked about the importance of Sara Errani, Paolini’s partner in doubles: "When she asked us to play together in the perspective of the Olympics, with Jasmine we jumped at the chance becauseé Sara è a mine of information, and to be able to share with her so many experiences è very constructive. Then in my opinion winning doubles matches at a good level improves your net position, your volée, your response, your serve: it improves your awareness as a player overall. With her we talk 360 degrees, we communicate not only about doubles, we train together often. Jasmine in this è very good, when she understands that near her she has someone who canò give her something important, she capitalizes on it".
