Virtus Bologna, Iffe Lundberg unveils his future
Iffe Lundberg leaves Virtus Bologna: now è official
After rumors circulated in recent weeks, now è confirmation has also arrived from the person directly concerned: Iffe Lundberg will leave Virtus Bologna after two seasons, becoming a free agent starting next July 1. The Danish basketball player, through a post issued on his Instagram profile, wanted to send greetings and thanks to the fans of the Black Vu’s and the society.
"Dear people and fans of Bologna, thank you for everything you have done for me and my family. The support you have shown me over the past two years è has been nothing short of extraordinary and I am truly grateful. Through the ups and downs you have always supported me, continued to cheer for me, continued to believe in me and will always appreciate it! I am very happy to have had the experience of living and playing in Bologna, to be able to feel the love for the game and for the team from the people, è definitely something that è matches the enthusiasm I had when I first heard about Basket City. Having experienced the Italian cuisine, climate and lifestyle è something that my family and I enjoyed very much.
I want to thank the club, the coaches, all the staff and especially my teammates. You have pushed me every single day to become a better version of myself, to become a better friend and a better teammate on and off the field. I love you all and will forever cherish all the good and bad times we shared together. È time has come for our paths to part, but I will always feel like a "virtussino". Thank you for everything!" this is the message of Iffe Lundberg.
Arriving two years ago from the CSKA Moscow exodus, Lundberg had ended up on the sidelines of the team in the closing part of the Scariolo era but resisted being traded in the last summer market session, having one year left on his contract. Recovered mentally by coach Luca Banchi, he covered a major role in the recently concluded year, holding 9.4 points average in 35 Euroleague games.
