Vanessa Ferrari will not want toà in Paris for the upcoming Olympics. A calf injury, suffered during a training session in preparation for the Absolutes, cuts off the legendary Italian gymnast. It was announced by Ferrari herself via a long video posted on her social channels.
"My path to Paris 2024 ends here – wrote the Tokyo 2020 silver medalist -. Yesterday, in the gymnasium, during the test ahead of next week’s all-around, in the take-off of a jump, my calf gave". The gymnast wrote these words publishing them along with the video of the incident, which leaves no doubt about the severity of the incident".
"Missing a month to the Olympics, there are no timelines to recover a muscle injury – added the Italian champion -. Despite the fact that I have been battling with various discomforts since December, at the technical level I was very well. Unfortunately forò the finiscus did not hold up. I embarked on this path with the desire to fight to the end but also with the knowledge that there could be this kind of outcome is part of the 'game'. Forò although in my career I have had many injuries you never get used to it and the beatingè always strong, especially after three years of training and a month from the final goal".
