Adriano Panatta makes a note to Jannik Sinner

Adriano Panatta during the podcast La Telefonata with Paolo Bertolucci made a note to Jannik Sinner after his victory over Yannick Hanfmann in four sets in his Wimbledon debut: "It is becoming usual for him to lose sets in the matches he is playing on grass, against good players but certainly not phenomena" said the former Azzurro referring also to the last tournament in Halle. 

Panatta believes, however, that Sinner is clearly on a higher level than everyone except Carlos Alcaraz: "I think that by now the Slams will be more and more a matter between Jannik and Carlos Alcaraz. Net of what Novak Djokovic might do, whose condition we don’t know exactly, I see a noticeable difference between the two mentioned and the rest of the tennis players on the circuit". 

"Players like Zverev, Medvedev, Tsitsipas and Dimitrov are not up to their standards". Sinner and Alcaraz will not face each other forò in the final: "È one thing I really don’t understand, but then again, it’s the rankings…".
