Colbey Ross chooses red and white
Market blow for newly promoted Trieste
Pallacanestro Trieste made official on Friday morning an important market blow, which goes to strengthen the backcourt of the newly promoted team in Serie A: it is Colbey Ross, a 1998 class point guard seen last season in Tortona and, in the previous one, in Varese.
Great satisfaction è was expressed by Michael Arcieri, who spoke to the official channels of the Julian club: "I have had the privilege of observing the evolution of Colbey's game here in Europe,” said the general manager, “witnessing firsthand his brilliant 2022-23 season. In addition to the technical improvement in every aspect of the game, both on offense and defense, what is most striking is the extraordinary growth of his leadership on the court, in the locker room and in the community.
"Colbey's impact on our team culture and organization will be outstanding,‖ added Arcieri. -Having Michele (Ruzzier, ed.) and Colbey gives us two elite, winning point guards who are capable of making all of their teammates perform at their best. On behalf of the Cotogna Sports Group, our entire team, staff and passionate fans, we extend the warmest welcome to Colbey, his wife Makena and the entire Ross" family.
Ross, after bidding farewell to Varese, had started the 2023/24 season with Buducnost, in the Adriatic League. Just before Christmas the choice to return to Italy, wearing the jersey of Tortona, with which the basketball player born in Aurora, Colorado, won qualification for the playoffs scudetto, in which the bianconeri gave Virtus Bologna a hard time in the quarters, losing only in game-5.
