NBA: Simone Fontecchio signed: two-year deal with Pistons

The Blue is recovering from his foot injury
Fontecchio will remain in the NBA. The Blue, currently struggling with a foot problem (which forced him to miss the pre-Olympic with Italy), will wear the Detroit Pistons jersey for the next two years. As revealed by ESPN, the Italian has agreed to a two-year contract worth $16 million total.
During last season, Fontecchio had impressed in the 16 games he played in a Pistons jersey, traveling at an average of more than 15 points per game. Numbers that convinced Pistons number one Langdon to bet on him again.
The injury should not affect his presence at training camp, also becauseè Fontecchio needs to train hard to regain his best physical condition. Staying in Detroit was his goal and now è confirmation has arrived. For the next two years, he can è continue to prove his worth in an increasingly ambitious franchise.
In the upcoming season, Fontecchio will be working under the orders of Bickerstaff, the new coach chosen by Langdon to take the Pistons to the next level. It should be recalled that the franchise è returned from a horrible year, with only 14 overall wins (the worst in Pistons history) and a string of as many as 28 consecutive losses.
