Reyer Venezia, important confirmation under the levers
Mfiondu Kabengele stays in Venice
Mfiondu Kabengele’s path with Reyer Venezia, which began last December 31, will continue throughout the 2024/2025 season: this was announced by the orogranata club itself, through its official channels. Kabengele will thus return to coach Neven Spahija’s disposal for next season.
"I am happy to continue my path with Umana Reyer, whom I thank,” the Congolese-born basketball player told the company's channels.
The club has great ambitions and I like it because I always set high goals myself. I am convinced that through hard work we can grow and mature as a team, becoming even more solid and consistent".
"Myself,” added the 1997 class basketball player, who before arriving in Venice had worn the jersey of AEK Athens for a few months, “I expect to become better over the course of the season. As always, I will give everything I have for the team and to the fans I say that I am preparing to do my best".
Grandson of Dikembe Mutombo, Kabengele è was selected in the 2019 NBA draft by the Brooklyn Nets with the 27th overall pick, before the New York franchise traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers. From there; he began a journey that led him to play for Los Angeles and Agua Caliente Clippers (NBA and G-League), Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA), Rio Grande Valley Vipers (G-League), Boston and Maine Celtics (NBA and G-League), AEK Athens and Reyer Venezia.
