Boris Becker identifies a limitation of Jannik Sinner
During an interview with the microphones of the "Corriere dello Sport", former tennis player Boris Becker è returned to talk about the rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. More specifically, Holger Rune's former coach pointed out a specific detail that differentiates the two players, slightly favoring, in his opinion, the Spaniard.
"In the last year, Sinner has made great progress that has allowed him to win a Slam, become more consistent in every tournament and reach the top of the world rankings, but I think his problem in handling fifth sets" began the former German tennis player.
"When an opponent takes it to the fifth set, he canò have this conviction: the more I can lengthen the match, the more my chances against Jannik increase. One canò make the reverse argument, however, for Alcaraz, becauseé having never lost in the fifth, he has an opposite mental reflex than Sinner" added Holger Rune's former coach.
"Jannik will have to try to improve performance in the deciding fraction of Grand Slam tournaments, especially if he wants to have a better chance of holding his own against Carlos in the majors" concluded Boris Becker.
