Alex Corretja identifies the turning point for Carlos Alcaraz in the rivalry with Jannik Sinner
During a speech on Spanish television, former tennis player Alex Corretja, among other topics, addressed the recent triumphs by Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros and Wimbledon and the impact these results have had on the mental level for the Murcian in the rivalry with Jannik Sinner.
"Alcaraz’s victory over Sinner in the Roland Garros semifinals è was a real spark for him. He learned that day that è with suffering and fortitude that one wins Slam tournaments" began the former Spanish tennis player.
"After being down two sets to one with Jannik and managing to win, Carlos has made a remarkable change on a mental level, as he has shown that he can always remain calm in any situation. That's the step the Murcian has taken in recent weeks" added the former world number two.
"When he was not playing his best tennis, before his encounter with Sinner, Alcaraz thought it was not enough to win these kinds of tournaments. Instead, he is now realizing that even without playing his best he has what it takes to make it to the final stages of Slams and win them" concluded Alex Corretja.
