It's going to be slapper Loveth Omoruyi who will take the place of the injured Alice Degradi in the list of blue athletes who will participate in the Paris 2024 Games.
The complete list of those summoned by coach, Julio Velasco includes Carlotta Cambi and Alessia Orro (setters); Caterina Bosetti, Gaia Giovannini, Myriam Sylla and Loveth Omoruyi (setters); Marina Lubian, Anna Danesi, Sarah Fahr (middle hitters); Paola Egonu and Ekaterina Antropova (opposites); and Monica De Gennaro (libero). Thirteenth Ilaria Spirito (libero).
Loveth Omoruyi, born in Lodi on Aug. 25, 2002, played in Imoco Volley Conegliano from 2020 to 2022, winning two league titles, two Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups and one Champions League. After a one-year stint in Busto Arsizio, she won the CEV Cup with Chieri last season.
She has been part of the major national team roster since 2021 and was Under 20 World Champion in 2021 and European Under 21 champion the following year.
