Toprak Razgatlioglu wins and stretches in the rankings
The resounding moment of Toprak Razgatlioglu continues, who won at Most race-1 of the Round of the Czech Republic thus conquering his eighth consecutive duccesso between long races and Superpole races. The Turk, riding his BMW, crossed the finish line solo, ahead by more than 5" Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Iannone, both on Ducati Panigale V4R.
The two Italian centaurs competed for the place d'honor in a sprint: to finish in front, winning among other independent riders, è was Petrucci, who had not reached the podium since third place in race-2 at Phillip Island, the first race weekend of the season held in late February. Just outside the top three, however, was Alvaro Bautista, who had to settle for fourth place on the factory Ducati.
For Iannone è on the other hand, it was the third top-three finish in the race: the Abruzzese rider had in fact finished third in race-1 at Phillip Island (the race that marked his official return to the track) and second in the Superpole race at the Catalunya Round, staged at the end of March.
In the overall standings, Razgatlioglu stretches to first place, taking himself to 266 points, followed by Nicolò Bulega’s 210 (sixth today with his Ducati) and Bautista’s 199. Danilo Petrucci, on the other hand, jumps to the top of the independent team riders’ standings with 105 points, overtaking Iannone, who rises to 104 with today’s third place.
