The restyling of the Trapani Shark roster continues. The Sicilian team, in fact, has made known the closing of a double operation, one inbound and one outbound. As far as reinforcement is concerned, the Granata have reached an agreement with Justin Robinson, a 185 cm and 85 kg U.S. point guard from Rio Breogàn, a team playing in the top Spanish league.
He è was born in Manassas, Virginia (USA) on October 12, 1997. He’ a modern point guard with a lightning-fast first step and great speed of execution. He spent his high school years at Maryland and, in his senior season at St. James, averaged 21.8 points, 7.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 recovered balls per game and was named Washington County Player of the Year. He attended Virginia Tech University playing four years with the Hokies and, in his senior season, averaged 13.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 41.8 percent from three. Robinson finished his college career with 1,383 points and a school record 562 assists.
Since graduating he has divided his time between the NBA and the G League. In the American top league, he has worn the jerseys of the Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons, and recorded the best stats in 2021/22 in the five games with the Pistons: 5.6 points, 1.8 assists and 1.4 rebounds. He also played in the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats and Capital City Go-Go before leaving for Australia and joining Illawarra for the 2022/23 NBL season. He made his debut in the season opener, but è was forced to miss the rest of the league due to a torn meniscus in his right knee. He had to wait until the following season to showcase himself and demonstrate all his talent: in 2023/24 for him an average of 12 points, 3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. On March 20, 2024, Robinson signed with CB Breogán of the Liga ACB and, in 9 games, he è made himself known by averaging 9.3 points, 3 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
