US Open, Jannik Sinner starts with number 140

Everything is ready for the start of the US Open: the tournament will take place from August 26 to September 8 on the concrete of Flushing Meadows in New York. Jannik Sinner will take on U.S. Mackenzie McDonald, number 140 in the ATP rankings.

Over the past decade, the U.S. Open has seen a variety of champions, with a few top names dominating the scene. In 2023, Novak Djokovic captured the title, adding another trophy to his rich collection. The previous year, Carlos Alcaraz surprised everyone by winning his first title at the US Open. In 2021, Daniil Medvedev beat Djokovic in the final, preventing him from completing the Grand Slam. Dominic Thiem won in 2020 in a dramatic final, while Rafael Nadal triumphed in 2019 and 2017.

Djokovic also won in 2018 and 2015, while Stan Wawrinka captured the title in 2016. In 2014, Marin Cilic surprised the tennis world by winning his first and only Grand Slam title.
