Piero Bucchi has chosen Brindisi’s new captain
Two weeks after the start of the summer training camp, Valtur Brindisi has made official the members of the roster at the disposal of coach Piero Bucchi, who in turn has named a new captain: he is Tommaso Laquintana, a basketball player in his second year in biancoazzurro, born and raised in Puglia.
"My decision è was completely natural – said Coach Bucchi, explaining his choice -. Tommy è just back from last year’s experience, è an Apulian boy, he knows the environment and has the right age to play the role of captain at his best. His values, spirit and experience I am sure will be of great help to all his teammates".
Laquintana himself è said he was honored by his new role: "I thank coach Piero Bucchi for the decision to assign me this important position,” he said. “For the first time in my career I will wear the captain’s stripes and to be here in Brindisi, in my Puglia, fills me with joy. I will doò my best so thaté the team every day devotes heart and soul to our project, on the court and off, in training and in the game".
Brindisi will play the A2 Series championship after the bitter ending of last season, which ended with the last place in the regular season and the consequent relegation. This year's roster will consist of Davide Buttiglione (No. 6), Tommaso Laquintana (8), Gianmarco Arletti (9), Giovanni Vildera (14), Tommaso Fantoma (15), Mark Ogden (17), Niccolò De Vico (21), Todor Radonjic (23), Andrea Calzavara (31), Kevin Ndzie (39) and Bryon Allen (55).
