John Obi Mikel spoke to Obionepodcast about Victor Osimhen's troubled summer: "È he was very close to Chelsea. We were very, very close. We were one step away from getting this deal done, but there were just some little problems, little issues, that we simply could not overcome. Even if we had done the deal, it was too late for the medicals".
"I know exactly where we stopped. If eventually, you know, say, in January or next summer, we were to resume the negotiations, I know exactly where we are and where we have to start from. I know what the club offered him. I know where we got to. We finally came to a compromise. It was just little things, paperwork, medical examinations and a few problems that we couldn’t get over. We didn’t have a lot of time".
