Daniil Medvedev will again challenge Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters 1000. It will be the 14th challenge between the Russian and the Italian, the fifth this season. The world number one è imposed himself in the last direct confrontation at the Us Open, but now Medvedev wants to take revenge.
"This year è already the fifth time we face each other. He probably hasn't played so many matches against anyone else,‖ stressed the world number five at a press conference after the victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas. -We are 3-1 to him on the season? Some matches have been balanced, some less so. I can play well against him. I know it’s going to be tough, he è the best player in the world right now".
"I will have to play to the best of my ability". I have to serve well first of all. Physically it will beà tough, but I am ready for the battle. Jannik and I met four times in 2024. One of the four matches è was very easy for him to win; the other three, however, were balanced and I played well".
