Jannik Sinner's tribute to Rafael Nadal

After Roger Federer, Jannik Sinner also wanted to say sweet words to Rafael Nadal, who on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 10, officially announced his retirement from tennis at the end of 2024.

"It&#39s tough news for the tennis world and beyond. What can I say, I was really lucky to have known him even off the court, è an incredible person. Obviously we all saw how è strong he was, but he taught young tennis players how to behave and how to handle difficult situations on the court. He gave us so many emotions" began the world number one at a press conference.

"He has always remained humble, not è changed with success, choosing the right people around himé and having a great family. There is so much that he has given us, so sì, è tough news, forè at the same time everything has a beginning and an end. Only he knows how he feels and è soì" added Jannik Sinner.

There are only three previous matches between the South Tyrolean and the Majorcan, with the Spaniard winning all three. The Italian, in addition, could once again share the court with the 22-time Slam champion in a hypothetical Davis Cup final between Italy and Spain.
