Torino, no bench for Ivan Juric against Lecce

Croatian technician was struck down by pneumonia

Torino must do without coach Ivan Juric, starting with Monday night’s match against Lecce. Announcing his absence was the Granata club itself, through an official note released on Monday.

“Ivan Juric will not be on the bench this evening due to a physical ailment,” the note reads. Taking his place in the match against Lecce will be assistant coach Matteo Paro. The granata coach underwent examinations that established pneumonia. Appropriate therapy was immediately started and the situation will be re-evaluated in the coming days based on clinical and instrumental evolution.”

A challenge within a challenge, then, for Torino, which seeks revenge after the home loss to Atalanta but will have to do so without its coach on the sidelines.
