The Sports Council of Aci Sport, in fact, has established the titles of the speed races; climb to draw up, subsequently, the calendar of 2025 and in the Italian SuperSalita Championship è was confirmed the format to 7 competitions with the Monte Erice chosen for the particularityà of its track, for the peculiarityà of a race that combines history, tradition and promotion of the territory, for an organization rooted in time and for the numbers of drivers who participate, always the top.
In 2024, in fact, the Monte Erice had, in the SuperSalita, the record number of drivers verified (165), started (163) and classified (152). "Erice has deserved this result – says a satisfied Giovanni Pellegrino, president of the’Automobile Club Trapani -, that of being among the mostù important Cronoscalate thanks to its characteristics, the track and the landscape. The Trapani race with its hairpin bends and fast curves è has always been particular for an asphalt that drivers must know how to deal with. You è not champions if you do not have to your credit at least one Monte Erice, a race that is identified with the whole territory, from ’Agro Ericino to the municipalities of Trapani. Erice is not è only a climb race, but a set of emotions and events that give this kermesse a very precise connotation".
The Monte Erice combines the’climb to the medieval village of Erice with the sea of Trapani, where scrutineering is held, and with that of the north coast, from Pizzolungo, where Aeneas escaped from Troy docked, to Mount Cofano, making the time trial a real spot for uphill races and for an area that, thanks to the Monte Erice, lives a week of passion, acting as a driving force for local tourism, with accommodation facilities that are sold out.
"We are close to those who administer the territory – concludes Giovanni Pellegrino – and at the same time we ask for their closeness to make even more unique this competition that is preparing for its sixty-seventh edition. The certainty of being part of the Supersalita Championship also in 2025 was ensured by the awareness of the emotions that this competition è able to offer to those who love it, from the drivers, the true soul of the competition without whom the myth of the Trapani cronoscalata could not have been nourished, up to the fans who flock first to scrutineering, then to practice and, finally, to the race".
