The words of Juan Carlos Ferrero

It is raining cats and dogs for Carlos Alcaraz. After losing his debut match at the Nitto ATP Finals 2024 against Casper Ruud, the Murcian tennis player interrupted after only ten minutes his preparation training for the second round match against Russian Andrey Rublev. Speaking to the microphones of the Spanish media, the coach of the world number three Juan Carlos Ferrero è expressed himself bluntly about the physical condition of his client.

"As soon as he moves a little, he finds it very difficult to breathe normally because of the annoying cold. It's really a bad time to get sick" began the Spanish coach.

"We cannot say for sure if he will be able to play tomorrow or not. We have all played in these conditions. I think he won&#39t get to the point of retiring, of course it will be difficult for him to be in 100 percent condition" added Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Carlos Alcaraz will return to the court at Inalpi Arena at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, for the second match of the round against Andrey Rublev. Compounding the knockout in the opener, the Murcian will be obliged to win to keep alive his hopes of qualifying for the next stage of the Nitto ATP Finals.
