MINT Vero Volleyball Monza: Coach Eccheli is not in the skin for European debut
The words of Massimo Eccheli
An evening of great emotions awaits MINT Vero Volley Monza; on Thursday, November 14 at 8:00 p.m. (live DAZN and Sky Sport) the Consortium men’s first team è ready to experience together with the home crowd at the Opiquad Arena in Monza the historic debut in CEV Champions League 2024/25. For this “first time” Beretta and teammates will find on the other side of the net the Greeks of the’Olympiacos Piraeus, admitted after victory in the third round of qualification.
The two teams have never faced each other before, although Monza last year in the CEV Challenge Cup had met Panathinaikos in the round of 16, winning both the home match and the one in Athens.
Thanks to the ride last season ended with the second place in the Championship Finals, the Brianzoli have earned by right access to the top continental club competition and, drawn in Pool B, will challenge in this group stage in addition to the Hellenes also the Germans of’Helios Grizzlys Giesen and the Turks of Fenerbahce Istanbul.
"Tomorrow night we will be entirely focused on the match becauseé it will be our absolute debut in the Champions League. We are proud to be able to participate in the top European competition and honor this opportunity with all the energy and determination we can put on the field" these were the statements in the press conference by MINT Vero Volley Monza coach Massimo Eccheli.
"We are really excited to start this journey in the Champions League, especially because’access we earned on the court last year. We can’t wait to start in front of our public, which we hope will be charged and ready to support us, becauseé support è for us is always essential. It will certainly be a difficult match, but è this is exactly the beauty of the European Cup" these, instead, the words of team captain Thomas Beretta.
