ATP Finals 2024: Taylor Fritz-Alex De Minaur 5-7 6-4 6-3

The final day of the Ilie Nastase group at the Nitto ATP Finals 2024 opened with the success of Taylor Fritz, who è won in three sets over Australia's Alex De Minaur with a score of 5-7 6-4 6-3. The result of this match, in addition, gave world number one Jannik Sinner the arithmetic certainty of advancing to the semifinals of the tournament.

In the first set è De Minaur broke the balance first, finding the break in the seventh game. Fritz, for his part, did not give up and immediately recovered the disadvantage. To make the difference, however, è è again the Australian who again snatches her service from her opponent in the eleventh game, thus paving the way for the 7-5, which also gives Jannik Sinner the qualification to the next round.

In the second set, both players are perfect at bat until 4-4, then the American raises the level and thanks to a partial two-game run, extends the match to the third and decisive partial.

In the third set è once again Fritz found the decisive stretch in the fourth game. After confirming the break, the world number five è skillfully managed the lead until the final 6-3.

To peel off a pass to the tournament semifinals, Taylor Fritz must now root for Jannik Sinner, who is engaged in the evening against Daniil Medvedev. Should the South Tyrolean manage to win at least one set with the Russian, the Italian would be certain of qualification as first in the group, while the American would be sure of second place.

For the Moscow tennis player, however, the only chance of qualifying would be to defeat the world number one two sets to zero.
