Davis Cup, Matteo Berrettini perfect: Italy ahead in final

A good start to the Davis Cup final for Italy, engaged against the Netherlands on the indoor concrete court of Malaga. In the first singular, in fact, Matteo Berrettini left no chance to Botic Van de Zandschulp, defeated with the final score of 6-4 6-2 after an hour and a quarter of play.
A somewhat contracted start for Berrettini, forced to the advantages in the first service round and not very incisive in response. The ninth game forò changes the inertia of the set and of the match: Van de Zandschulp goes under in an instant 0-40 and gives up the serve with a backhand error to the blue, who thanks and closes the partial 6-4.
In the second set, delicate moment for Berrettini, down 0-30 in the second game: the Roman strung four consecutive points and held serve, scratching the break on the advantages in the next game (2-1). On the strength of the advantage Berrettini repeated the break in the seventh game (5-2) and filed the case with a first-set winner for the 6-2 final.
With Berrettini’s victory, Jannik Sinner has match point on his racket against Tallon Griekspoor, number 40 in the ATP rankings. Should the world number one win, it will be a one-two punch for the Azzurri of captain Filippo Volandri, holders of the title after their victory over Australia last year.
