Inter flies but Mehdi Taremi has lost his way in goal
His only treble against Red Star, on a penalty kick
Inter, thanks to the success over Leipzig, è reached 13 points in five Champions League matches. A triumphant march that is certifying the quality of Inzaghi’s lineup. Everyone is satisfied, although there's some concern for Taremi, who just can't find the way to goal.
Inzaghi continues to give him great confidence. In all five matches of the Champions League regular season, the former Porto striker è started as a starter but, to date, has scored only one goal, among other things on a penalty, in the San Siro match against Red Star.
In total, the Iranian has scored one goal in 15 appearances this season. That is a meager haul for Taremi, who has scored avalanches of goals (91 goals in 182 games) with the Porto shirt. Inzaghi is appreciating the work he does for the team but it would not be bad at all if he also appeared in the scorers’ table with more regularity.
With Lautaro Martinez not in top condition, Taremi è the best alternative to lend a hand up front where, at the moment, Thuram is doing it all. A goal would probably be enough for Taremi to get unblocked. The hope of the Nerazzurri fans è that this goal will come as soon as possible. The work he does for the team è commendable but Taremi è was bought to score goals.
