Jannik Sinner-Clostebol: Federica Pellegrini also speaks

During a lengthy interview given to the microphones of the "Stampa", Federica Pellegrini, among the various topics discussed, also dwelt on the Clostebol case that is keeping Jannik Sinner and all of Italian tennis apprehensive.

"I am convinced that Jannik did not voluntarily take doping substances, but the point è another, which is that until now we have always been told that the athlete è the responsible regardless of any circumstance" began the former Italian swimmer.

"If the vision changes we need precise rules. The appeal by WADA will give us clearer indications on the path that we will want to take" added Federica Pellegrini.

On the doping issue involving the South Tyrolean è Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev also spoke, who bluntly commented on the situation at the microphones of "La Presse": "I think the anti-doping system should be a little bit more understandable. You cannot wish any player to pass something like that. I dare not imagine the stress Sinner had to go through during this period. He handled it very well, continued to play his best and è managed to dominate the circuit winning titles in spite of everything. In tennis the rules are very strict, more so than in other sports. I have a feeling that every little mistake, even when it is not è intentional, can threaten your career".
