Davide Nicola tries to take the good from the knockout against Juventus

As it happened five times in the previous six editions of the Coppa Italia, Cagliari’s path stops in the round of 16, this time in the presence of a Juventus capable of accelerating considerably in the second half, up to the 4-0 with which the match è ended, without leaving much room for interpretation of the match.

Yet, despite the heavy passive, Davide Nicola tried in the press conference not to make dramas: "Until the second goal we played even better than the championship match (drawn 1-1 always at the Stadium last October 6, ed.). We wanted to play it, we did it for just over a time".

There's one point on which the Rossoblù coach, however, does not compromise: "We need to manage our energy better, improve when it comes to staying in the game all the time. Tonight we failed to do that but still it must be said that Juventus è a strong team, it is not è a coincidence that they beat Manchester City in the Champions League".

"In the last three matches we have met Fiorentina, Atalanta and Juventus, losing all three,” Nicola further explained.

They are demanding matches with very strong opponents. Our task è to score as many points as possible especially against our competitors for salvation, without ever giving up playing with the best in the league".
