Jannik Sinner explains when he clicked: "Nothing comes suddenly"
Jannik Sinner in an interview with Tennis Magazine explained his rise to the world throne. Since the end of 2023, the Azure tennis player has made the ultimate leap forward, establishing himself as the currently strongest player on the planet: "Results did not come suddenly", explained the Azure.
"I have worked hard in recent years to be ready in the important moments. The victories I have achieved this year are the result of what I have done in the past. I thought I had become a great player when I entered the Top 10. But I could not beat the best, I had to add something to my tennis".
"Slowly we were able to beat the top ones as well. When Simone Vagnozzi started to train me I varied my game more: in the match sometimes it works, sometimes not forò in the head I feel that we are in the right direction. Since midà of last year all the pieces have started to fall into place, starting with the serve which è has become an'important weapon in the key moments of matches".
Sinner explained his progression: "Three years ago in the most important tournaments I was consistently getting into the round of 16, into the quarters. Later it was quarters and semifinals. In 2023 I reached semifinals and finals, always going close, while this year I played and won many semifinals and many finals in Slams and Masters 1000".
Among the opponents who made him grow the most there'è Daniil Medvedev: "Medvedev made me grow as a player. I could never beat him then gradually I found the solution in Beijing and won the title. Soì in Vienna".
