Jose Mourinho looks for a defender and knocks on Roma’s door
José Mourinho wants Mario Hermoso, currently at Roma
In search of a defender for the second half of the season, José Mourinho has thought of looking at home to Roma and has reportedly asked the Turkish club’s management, according to 'As' to try to strike a deal with the Giallorossi for Mario Hermoso. The former Atletico Madrid man has not shined so far in the capital, taking the field on only 11 occasions (until Dec. 22), often as a substitute.
Despite having the Giallorossi in common, Mourinho and Hermoso did not share the Roman experience: the coach è was in fact exonerated last January, well before the 1995-born player ended his experience with the Colchoneros, where he had played for five seasons.
The Giallorossi signed Mario Hermoso last Sept. 2: on the impact with the Italian league è weighed the lack of summer preparation (the Spaniard had been unemployed since July 1°), as well as a few too many injuries, such as the one that kept him out for practically the entire month of November.
Fenerbahce, after sixteen days in the Turkish league, è second but is a good eight lengths behind first-place Galatasaray. In the Europa League, too, the 'Yellow Canaries' are struggling, having picked up eight points in six matches: with two rounds left in the group stage, Mourinho’s team has only one point to spare from the elimination zone.
